Outing to Snailbeach Mine
Thursday 7 May, 9.30am departure from Mayfair

Snailbeach has the most complete collection of lead mine buildings in England, all cared for by our hosts, Shropshire Mines Trust. For those who’d like to, there will be a chance to explore an old mine tunnel and discover what it was like for miners working deep beneath the hills. There’s also a comprehensive exhibition which explains the process from rock face to railway through the many years that the mine was active.

We know you like to have the facts at your fingertips, so we have prepared an Accessibility Guide and a Frequently Asked Questions sheet. Please email us if you have any further questions.

The minibus leaves Mayfair at 9.30am and will be back by 2.15pm – we’ll be going via the Long Mynd and over the Stiperstones ridge, so we should get some great views along the way.

The cost is £15 per person, payable in advance. This includes your travel, admission to the mine, and a buffet lunch at The Stiperstones Inn. You can either pay in cash at the Café or Club, or by bank transfer.

To book a place on the trip, please email us.

Thank you to Joe Penfold and Shropshire Hills National Landscape for inspiring and helping to subsidise this trip.

Outing to David Austin Roses
Wednesday 20 May, 9.30am departure from Mayfair

David Austin is the home of the English rose – the gardens there are a delight! We have a spacious garden room and patio reserved for our exclusive use, with tea/coffee and a scone/cake provided on arrival. After that, you’ll have time to explore six themed gardens, relax in the sunshine and wonderful fragrance, and perhaps treat yourself in the tempting shop…

The Accessibility Guide and Frequently Asked Questions sheets are well worth a look. If you have any further questions, please email us.

The coach leaves Mayfair at 9.30am and we’ll be back by 2.30pm. We have reserved Boultons’ fully accessible coach which has a side lift to load wheelchairs – so there is no need to transfer in and out.

The cost is £15 per person, payable in advance. This includes your travel, admission, and light refreshments on arrival. You can either pay in cash at the Café or Club, or by bank transfer.

To book a place on the trip, please email us.
