A simple tool for you to voluntarily share that you have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that you may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.

In an Emergency

Shropshire Council First Point of Contact
Carers in an emergency situation that affects their caring responsibilities are advised to call Shropshire Council’s First Point of Contact: 03456 789044 during office hours and the  Emergency Duty Team on 03456 789040 for emergencies out of office hours.

Emergency Care Plan
What would happen if you suddenly couldn't be there for the person you care for? A good, well thought-out emergency plan will give you and the person you care for peace of mind, knowing that family, friends, or a care provider will be able to step in if an emergency happens.
 

Shropshire Council Carer Register
On enrolment you will receive a Carers card, which can be used to identify yourself as a carer and in emergency situations will alert people that there is someone who is relying on you.

A simple leaflet which can be used to record details about a person who can’t easily share information about themselves.

 

Message in a Bottle
The Lions Club Message in a Bottle scheme is a simple idea designed to encourage people to keep their personal and medical details on a standard form and in a common location – the fridge.

A free UK wide service which provides extra advice and support when there’s an interruption to your electricity, gas or water supply.
